Naganuma Futopia Park

This extensive lakeside park offers a wide range of recreational activities for families and nature lovers. It is located on the southern shore of Naganuma, which is the largest natural lake in Miyagi Prefecture.

The park is known for its iconic windmill, a white structure nicknamed The Swan. The structure is a faithful recreation of a Dutch-style windmill. It is more than 21 meters tall and has a blade span of almost 24 meters.

Another popular feature of the park is a 111-meter-long roller slide. This is a favorite with both youngsters and the young at heart. To enjoy the best experience, slide down on a piece of cardboard. You can bring your own or pick up an inexpensive slider at the onsite shop. Other attractions include a children’s athletics course. Bicycles are available for rent.

The park’s campground serves those wishing either to stay overnight or to use its facilities during the day. The ground is divided into three areas: 10 auto-camp sites, a general campsite accommodating up to 100 people, and a lawn area. Facilities such as a cooking station and sanitation facilities make it easy to use for even first-time campers and ideal for day camps and barbecues.
