How to separate bulky garbage

Bulky garbage from private houses will not be collected even if you bring it to an ordinary garbage collection place. Remember to make reservation if you request private garbage collection.


Class 1 (500 yen)

Stuff belong to this class should be small and be easy to carry. Appliances consist of several parts will be counted as one piece.

Electric appliances
  • dehumidifier
  • videocassette recorder
  • kerosene heater with fan (remember to take out batteries)
  • kerosene heater (remember to take out batteries)
  • vacuum cleaner
  • lighting equipment
  • cloth dryer
  • microwave (including electric oven)
  • electric kotatsu (foot warmer: except furnished kotatsu)
  • mini component
  • electric fan
  • electric wind-making machine
  • mochi (rice cake) cooker
  • pressing machine for trousers
  • portable sewing machine
  • knitting machine

Stuff related to furniture
  • chair (two per person)
  • sofa for a person
  • table (the length of a side should be under 1m)
  • small furniture (small enough for one person to carry)
  • cupboard
  • carpet (not a big one)
  • shoes box (within the height of 1m, and the width of 90cm)
  • sponge mattress (not more than two)
  • futon (not more than two)
  • Blankets or stuff related to blanket
  • Zabuton (cotton cushion)
  • playing apparatus for children
Others
  • shoji (traditional paper sliding door) (not more than one)
  • sash (not more than one)
  • monohoshizao (equipment for drying the wash)(not more than two)
  • bicycle (for adult use, children use)
  • ordinary ladder and stepladder (less than 1.5m height)

Class 2 (1,000 yen)

Stuff belong to this class will not be easy to carry and big compared to Class 1.
Appliances consist of several parts will be counted as one.

Non-acceptable stuff
  • electric water heating machine, car, motorcycle, agricultural machine and material, battery, gas cylinder, piano, drum, tire, tire wheel, a safe, refrigerator for business use, freezer for business use, vending machine
